Mr. Rupert R. Amy is Chairman of the Board of CAREER TRANSITIONS INC. and CAREERS INC. the two leading Career Transition and Executive Recruiting firms in Puerto Rico.

A native of San Juan, Rupert has over 43 years’ experience in Management, Marketing and Public Relations.  Before joining CAREERS INC. in 1988, Rupert was General Manager for ten years at Public Relations Group, Inc., the public relations affiliate of Martí, Flores, Prieto & Wachtel, one of the island’s largest advertising agencies.  On November 1994, Rupert purchased a majority interest in CAREERS INC. In April 2013, the firm was purchased by partners; Ruth González, Carla Deyo and Clara Amiama. He remains as their Chairman of the Board.

In April of 2003, Rupert incorporated CAREER TRANSITIONS INC. as an affiliate company, specializing in Career Transition / Outplacement, Executive Coaching and Training & Development services for both international and local companies. This company as a separate department of Careers Inc. was established and functioning since 1980 offering the same services to its existing clients.

Rupert’s marketing and management experience comes from his years working with the Economic Development Administration (Fomento) as a Marketing Director and the Tourism Development Company as Special Assistant to the Executive Director.  Rupert was also a Marketing Consultant with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co., and spent three years as Sales & Marketing Vice President of Palmas del Mar Resort in Humacao.

On the academic side, Rupert has an MBA in Marketing from the University of Florida, and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of Puerto Rico.  Rupert is past President of the Sales and Marketing Executives Association of San Juan, a former member of the Board of Trustees of St. John’s School, and of the Executive Committee of United Way of Puerto Rico.  Rupert also served on the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce, where he served for eight years.  Rupert is an accredited Public Relations Professional as certified by the Public Relations Society of America.
