With the workplace continuously changing how can HR departments prepare for the future, and what trends can we expect to see over the years to come?

The hybrid/remote workplace
HR departments have been struggling to fill vacancies; however, the hybrid/remote working has offered the opportunity to attract global talent. This trend is likely to continue for the foreseeable future. Technology is here to stay and will become more prominent in the years to come.

There is no need to fear AI & data – it adds value to HR departments and this change will shape the future of HR for good. Artificial intelligence will help to simplify time consuming tasks such as attendance management, payroll, and training opportunities.

Skill analysis
More organisations are understanding the benefit of carefully analysing which skills are missing in their workforce and what is required for the future. HR departments are now able to accurately forecast skills requirements for the future by applying a formula based on growth.


Cyber security
HR departments must put policies in place that help prevent cyber-attacks, especially as employees are spending time away from the office and are using their own broadband.

With members of staff working from home, employee experience has never been so tricky to manage – HR departments will have look at innovative ways of creating an inclusive employee environment where people feel valued even if they are working remotely.
