“Creating success with people.” – Geoff Morgan (Morgan & Banks)
My mentor – Geoff Morgan, used to say this with respect to his approach when working with people. It is something that has stayed with me throughout my entire career and has become an intricate part of who I am.
I’m grateful that I was able to learn such an invaluable lesson early in my work life. It has given me the opportunity to give back what I had the good fortune of receiving when I first started out to establish myself.
Creating success with people applies to creating success with everyone: the team of people I’ve managed or worked with in any capacity, each individual client I’ve engaged with, and the organisations as a whole with whom I’ve partnered.
My name is Peter George, and since the very start of my career, helping people and the organisations they work in has been a major driving force and my ‘raison d’etre’. As a qualified and registered psychologist with over 25 years of experience in the field of Organisational Psychology and HR Consulting, I can bring to bear the mix of knowledge, skill and experience required to manage complex workforce transition in any environment.
As the Melbourne-based Managing Director of Prima Careers, my involvement with some of the largest projects in corporate Australia goes back a generation. Although each one has had its own particular nuances, they have all included outcomes using solutions ranging from Outplacement and Career Transition, Executive Outplacement, Executive Coaching, Employee Assistance Programs and Workforce Redeployment and many others.
Many people define who they are by the work they do. This is an indication of how crucial the world of work is to their sense of being. It doesn’t matter what part of the world you live in or the type of job you do, it’s something found to be common across different cultures, education-level, or class structure.
Achieving a win-win outcome for organisations and their employees when managing the evolving nature of work brings the greatest satisfaction. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else as my vocation.
